Patient instructions BEFORE the Procedure of TEMPORARY RESTORATION (Pre Operative) :

• Eat regular meal before appointment.

• If you are given X-rays & investigation reports, please bring them to your appointment.

• There are usually no restrictions after the procedure concerning driving or returning to work.

• Continue all medications for blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid problems and any other conditions as recommended by your physician.

• If you have been advised by your physician or dentist to use antibiotic premedication because of mitral valve prolapse, heart murmur, hip, knee, cardiac or other prosthesis, or if you have rheumatic heart disease, make sure you are on the appropriate antibiotic on the day of your appointment.

• Please brush your teeth and rinse thoroughly before appointment.

• FOR FEMALE: Please inform us, if you think, you might be pregnant.

Patient instructions AFTER the Procedure of TEMPORARY RESTORATION (Post Operative) :

• Please do not rinse or take any food / liquid for 30 minutes.

• You may experience sensitivity. It may last for couple of days to 6 weeks

• It is common for a small portion of your temporary filling to wear away or break off. If the entire filling falls out, please call us for an appointment.

• Avoid chewing on sticky and hard food (chewing gum, etc). Try to chew on the other side of the treatment as much as possible

If anesthesia is given,

• Numbness of the lip, tongue & cheeks are common following the tooth preparation and is usually temporary.

• Do not chew anything; until the anesthesia has worn off (you may bite your cheek, lip, or tongue).

• Do not take foods at extremes of temperature (very hot or cold)

• Some discoloration around the injection site is normal and the extent will depend on your complexion and skin tone.

Oral Hygiene

• Continue to brush and oral hygiene methods. But do flossing carefully
